Miss Ina Lois Johnson

Miss Ina Lois Johnson, 88, of Winston-Salem, NC, formerly of Aspinwall, PA, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born September 12, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to Park and Helen Underwood Johnson. Miss Johnson was a 1944 graduate of the Temple University Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at Pittsburgh's Allegheny General Hospital and retired from Montefiore Hospital in 1985. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William P. Johnson and a sister, Helen E. Neidig. Surviving are one brother-in-law, Howard Neidig; a niece, Sheila Carlin and husband John; nephews, Howard Neidig, Jr. and wife Cindy, and William S. Johnson and wife Sara; and nine great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Paul Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
