Mrs. Minnie Sue Doby Harp, 69, loving wife, mother, mamaw and memaw of Advance passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at her home. She was born January 9, 1940 in Forsyth County to Edward L. Doby, Sr. and Mary Allen Doby. Mrs. Harp sold produce and canned goods in the summer in Clemmons under the blue tarp and was known as the ""Soup Lady"". She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Chris Harp; two great grandchildren, Laci and Kaci Goforth; two sisters and a brother. Surviving is her husband, Franklin ""Sonny"" Harp of 54 years; her children, Debbie Williams and husband, Howard, Donna Burton and husband Randy, Dennie Harp and David Harp and wife Karen, all of Advance; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Jewell Weber of Deland, FL and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Chaplain Meghan McSwain officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the funeral home and at all other times at Debbie's home on In & Out Lane, Advance.
