Mr. Milton Edward Rogers, 78, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1932 in Franklin County to William and Bertha Privette Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a member of World-Wide Church of God. He was raised at J.O.U.A.M. Home in Lexington. He was retired from the Winston-Salem Journal after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; three sisters; and a son, Michael Rogers. Surviving are his wife, Marion Moore Rogers; three daughters, Cathy Golding (Lloyd) of Winston-Salem, Cheryl Queen (Tim) of Winston-Salem, and Connie Rogers of San Antonio, TX; a son, Milton Edward Rogers, Jr. of Raeford; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Diza Morris (Roby) of Denton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 31 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Jud Milam officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
