Millard "Tex" Houck

WINSTON SALEM - Mr. Millard ""Tex"" William Houck, 79, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Tex was born on June 4, 1935 in Ashe County to Manuel and Lester Church Houck. Tex was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle and retired from Thomasville Furniture after 42 years of service. He was loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Tex was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Houck.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Taylor Houck; a daughter Diane Suoboda (husband, Frank); a step-daughter, Pamela Overby (husband, Norman); four grandchildren, Billy Rodriguez (wife, Allison), Ricky Dishman, Shawn Garcia and Sergio Garcia; three brothers, Clyde, Edward and Don Houck; and a sister, Lula Bell Michael.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Kernersville with Rev. David Neese officiating. Entombment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Church, 330 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.
