Millard Faulkner

Mr. Millard Faulkner, Jr., 94, of Winston- Salem passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at his residence. He was born to Millard Faulkner and Cooper Cummins Faulkner in Huron County, OH. Millard was a patriot and a Cincinnati Reds fan. Honorably serving in the US Navy during WWII, he was a first-hand witness to the surrender of Japan. He was often described by close friends and family as ""the best man I ever knew."" He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Neva Lane Faulkner, as well as one grandchild. Surviving are his son, Millard Claude ""Pete"" Faulkner; and daughters, Diane Faulkner Raymond, Barbara Chesnut, and Carol Hiers; as well as 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with Rev. Karen Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
