Mr. Miles Vanburen Wiggins, Jr., 83, of Lexington passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at his home. He was born January 24, 1927 in Gastonia to Miles V. Wiggins, Sr. and Emma Pannell Wiggins. Mr. Wiggins served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church. He was a Shriner and an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was retired from McLean Trucking Company after 34 years of service where he received the multi-million miles safe driver award. Surviving are his wife, Lougene T. Wiggins of the home; two sons, Ken Wiggins and wife Gay, Butch Hooks and wife Lisa; two daughters, Lynda Culler and husband Jim, Rose Kiger and husband Randy; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Nell Bowman and Verda Honeycutt. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 13 at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and the Rev. James C. Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 12 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
