WINSTON-SALEM-Mrs. Mildred Thompson Boner Womble, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Womble was born on December 3, 1929 in Forsyth County to Foy Edmund and Hattie Childress Thompson. Mildred was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. She was a resident at the Elms at Tanglewood for several years and most recently she was a resident at Trinity Glen Lutheran Home. She was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mildred was the office manager for Dr. Paul Nifong, Sr., D.D.S. and also worked at Fraleigh's Boutique in Clemmons. She enjoyed reading and having lunch with her friends at Cherrie's Café. Preceding Mrs. Womble in death were her first husband, Webb Boner and her second husband, A.B. Womble; her parents and four brothers. Surviving Mrs. Womble are two daughters, Dianne Underwood (Charlie) of Winston-Salem and Barbara Stephens of Yadkinville, NC; two grandsons, Greg Stephens (Donna) of Byron, GA and Will Scheipers (Julie) of Winston-Salem; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Danielle Stephens, Sam Webb Scheipers, Seth Scheipers, and Eva Scheipers; two sisters, Brenda Thompson Smothers (Dick) of Kernersville, NC and Wilma Thompson Bolick of Kernersville, NC; and one brother, Joe Thompson (Wanda) of King, NC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Clemmons First Baptist Church with Elder Michael Hartwig officiating. The family would like to express their thanks to the staffs of Trinity Glen Lutheran Home, The Elms at Tanglewood, Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, and Forsyth Medical Center for the care they provided to Mildred during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Clemmons First Baptist Church, 3530 Clemmons Rd., Clemmons, NC 27012. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
