TUTTLE - WINSTON-SALEM Mrs. Mildred Anne Bovender Tuttle passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 30, 1938 in Forsyth County to the late Barbara Pugh Bovender and Marvin Odell Bovender. Mrs. Tuttle retired from Brookridge Retirement Community in Winston-Salem with 18 years of service. She was a beloved wife, mother, nanny and great-nanny. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tuttle was preceded in death by her husband, Delmore Tuttle; two sons, Michael and Curtis Tuttle; brother, Bill Bovender; and sister, Betty Logan Mathis. She is survived by two sons, Robin (Karen) Tuttle and T. Scott (Jeanette) Tuttle; daughter-in-law, Linda Tuttle Vernon; six grandchildren: Stephanie (Chris) Glasgow, Christopher (Angela) Tuttle, Steven (Stephanie) Tuttle, Shannon (Marshall) Sykes, Miranda Tuttle and Joshua Slater; seven great-grandchildren: Morgan, Connor, Gavin and Amelia Tuttle, Nicholas and Allyson Sykes, and Emily Glasgow; brother, Jerry Bovender; a very special niece, Nancy Bullard; and numerous extended family. A funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Roger Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Union Tabernacle. The family will receive friends Friday, August 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice for their help and compassion.
