Mildred Evelyn Lewis Snyder

Mildred Evelyn Lewis Snyder, 68, was called by her Savior to her eternal home on June 26, 2011. Mildred was born in Bucksport, SC on November 22, 1942, the daughter of Mary and James Lewis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Gunter. Mildred worked at Basset-Sack and Bermuda Village. She was a very active member of Advent Moravian Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 45 years, was a member of the Women's Fellowship, a diener, and served on the Board of Elders. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Franklin (Rab) Snyder; a daughter, Pam Stowers (Bill); a grandson, Colby Stowers; and her faithful beagle companion, Sampson. She also leaves behind a brother, Buddy Lewis (Rita); four sisters, Allie Mae Smith, Linda Huff (Ronnie), Kathy Daniel (Jim) and Karen Todd (Steven). A celebration of Mildred's life will be held at Advent Moravian Church on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Peek and Rev. Joseph Fulk, III officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the General Fund of Advent Moravian Church, 1415 West Clemmonsville Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
