Kernersville - Mildred Isabelle Weavil Parnell, 90, passed away at her home on August 1, 2016. Mildred was born December 17, 1925 in Forsyth County to Jacob Madison and Lillian Hayworth Weavil. She was a charter member of Union Cross Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Quality Oil in 1986.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Norman ""Tom"" Parnell, Sr.
Surviving are two sons, Norman Parnell, Jr. (wife, Faye) and Kerry Parnell (wife, Gretta); one daughter, Susie Parnell Davis (husband, John); four grandchildren, Tommy Parnell (wife, Loretta), Derrick Berrier, Stephanie Blair (husband, Mark) and Kacey Parnell; four great grandchildren, Travis Parnell, Tracy Bryant (husband, Dan), Maegan Blair and Jacob Berrier; five great great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence ""Bunn"" Weavil; and one sister, Blanche ""Pegg"" Maloney of St. Peters, Missouri.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Denny Hester officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abbotts Creek Baptist Memorial Fund, 2816 Abbotts Creek Church Rd., High Point, NC 27265 or a charity of donor's choice.
