Mildred Spano Mize

Mildred Lucy Spano Mize, 79, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014. Mildred was born November 7, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late John and Josephine Borzi Spano. She loved to travel, especially to the beach to fish. Mildred was a loving wife to her husband, William ""Bill"" John Mize, and had taken care of him for the past ten years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Spano, and sisters, Gina Evans and Pauline Santana. Mildred is survived by her husband, William ""Bill"" John Mize, of the home; son, Michael Zagami; and brother, Anthony Spano, of New Jersey.
A celebration of Mildred's life will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Clint Dousay officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm before the service. Memorials may be made to Senior Services of Davidson County, 555-B West Center Street Extension, Lexington, NC 27295.
