HAMLIN - RURAL HALL Ms. Mildred Evelyne Frye Hamlin passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at her home. She was born May 28, 1935 in Stokes County to the late Leona Overby Frye and Perry Columbus Frye, Sr. Ms. Hamlin worked for Hanes Hosiery for 19 years and then retired from Westinghouse with 25 years of service. She was a member of Baux Mountain Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Ms. Hamlin was preceded in death by her son, Richard Curtis Combs; and three sisters: Nancy Lee Beegle, Ruth Hall and Deanna Chilton. She is survived by one brother, Perry C. Frye of Danbury; grandson, Richard Brandon Combs of Germanton; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Farmer of Winston-Salem; step-great-granddaughter, Hannah Farmer of Winston-Salem; daughter-in-law, Tammy Combs of Germanton; best friend, Brenda Gilley of Rural Hall; and also, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Baux Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Smith and Brother Bob Jeune officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baux Mountain Baptist Church, 4334 Lake Woussicket Road, Germanton, NC 27019. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
