Mildred Crews Ferguson

Mrs. Mildred Crews Ferguson, 93, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on December 26, 1919 the daughter of the late Robert and Lora Fletcher Crews. Mrs. Ferguson was retired from Hanes Hosiery and a member of Marshall Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday School Class as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert A. Ferguson and two sisters, Ruth Mathis and Ruby Hargrave. She is survived by her son, James W. Ferguson (Patricia) of Texas, a grandson, Dean Ferguson of Florida and a sister-in-law, Bertha Balliet of California. She is also survived by two nieces, Judith Blackburn (Justin) of Walkertown and Linda Dunn (Stan) of Winston-Salem and a nephew, Larry Hargrave of Walkertown. Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Marshall Baptist Church in Winston-Salem with Rev. John Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Marshall Baptist Church, 5739 Old Rural Hall Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Mrs. Ferguson would like to acknowledge all the help and support of her niece, Judith Blackburn and her great-niece, Jennifer Robbins who provided for her during her stay at Independence Village over the last several years.
