Mildred Dowell Blakely

Mrs. Mildred Dowell Blakely, 78, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at The Lutheran Home in Winston-Salem after a period of declining health. She was born November 15, 1930 to the late Homer C. Dowell and Pansy Pardue Dowell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Lane and two brothers, Russell Dowell and Harvey Dowell. Mrs. Blakely is survived by three brothers, Grady L. Dowell and wife Pat of Winston-Salem, Daniel G. Dowell and wife Faye of King and James Paul Dowell and wife Joy of Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening, October 13, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
