Mildred Barnwell

Mrs. Mildred Crotts Angell Barnwell, 94, of Winston-Salem, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 16, 2018. She was born May 31, 1923 in Forsyth County to Maggie Bessie Robertson Crotts and Eugene G. Crotts. Mrs. Barnwell was a member of College Park Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and precious woman who loved the Lord Jesus and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Barnwell; her beloved husband, Fred Angell, Sr. and two brothers, Russell Crotts and Arvil Crotts and a sister, Viola Crotts Vogler. Surviving are one daughter, Tuwanna Wood (Keith) of Danbury; one son, Fred Edwin Angell, Jr.; her grandchildren, Zachary Wood, Tonya Lineberry, Crystal Holder and Randall Wood and her great grandchildren, Lathan Wood, Kenna Wood and Mathias Wood, Dustin Holder, Austin Holder, Trey Wood, Taylor Wood and Palmer Wood; two special sister-in-laws and many special nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ramon Smith and Zachary Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. She was resident of Brookridge Retirement Home. We would like to thank the wonderful, kind and caring staff for their care of our mother. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
