ADAMS-BYERLY King - Mildred Adams-Byerly, 76, of King, NC passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2009. ""Millie"" was born July 30, 1932 in Manning, SC to the late John Frederick and Mildred White Rawlinson. She graduated from Hanes High School in 1951. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Jack Adams, Sr.; and her second husband of 27 years, Kenneth Byerly. Millie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter and loving caregiver, Deborah Lynn Adams, her son, Jack R. Adams, Jr. and wife, Sharon; and her daughter, Brenda Kilpatrick; five grandchildren, Captain Jack R. Adams III, USMC and wife, Morgan, Daniel Adams, Matthew Adams, Erin Kilpatrick, and Hannah Kilpatrick; two great-grandchildren, Jack Adams IV and Isabella Carter. Millie is also survived by her sister, Emory Lu Stainback of Winston-Salem; a niece, Lu Ann Ketchie and a nephew, George Stainback, Jr. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 4 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Ralph Sproles, Minister officiating. There will be no formal visitation. To everyone who knew and loved her, Millie left a legacy of faith, love and fun. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice Center. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their care and support.
