Michael Wayne Wood

Kernersville - Mr. Michael Wayne Wood, 62, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1947, in Forsyth County to the late S. Dean and Stella Nail Wood. Michael served in the US Army and retired from RJ Reynolds. He was an avid golf member and employee of Maple Leaf Golf Course. Surviving are his loving wife, Linda L. Wood, of Kernersville; two sons, Michael Kevin Wood of Lake Norman and Jason Wayne Wood of Kernersville; one daughter, Heather Lynn Wood of Kernersville; one brother, Jerry Lee Wood (Judy Ross) of Fletcher, NC; one nephew, Timothy Dylan McDonald, a sister-in-law, Cathy Sue Long McDonald of Kernersville, and mother-in-law, Betty Ann Long of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 pm Monday, September 7, 2009, at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
