Michael Keith Wood

Michael Keith Wood 36, of Clemmons, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital. He was born in Forsyth County on May 8, 1979 to Keith and Donna James Wood. He was an avid sports fan and loved the UNC Tarheels, Charlotte Hornets, and the Houston Astros. He enjoyed reading and playing with Cooper. He graduated from North Davidson High School in 1997 and UNC-G in 2001 where he did his graduate work. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his mother Donna James Wood, an aunt Carol Moore, his grandparents Willis and Eloise James and Harvey and Helen Wood.
Surviving are his parents, Keith and Carol Wood of King, special sisters Becca Smith of Portland, Maine, and Ashley Johnson of King. He is also survived by Uncles and Aunts Steve and Teresa James of Arcadia, Aunt and Uncle Cindy and Donnie Hutchins of King, Aunt Betsy Vanover of Westfield, Nieces Olina and Ione Johnson of King, and numerous loving cousins and his faithful canine companion Rosemary and friend Curtis, and his best buddy Cooper. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jerry Simpkins officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening February 20, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
