Michael L. Reece

Michael L. Reece, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 17, 2023, while at home.  He was born to Johnny and Faye Callahan Reece on June 14, 1971. If you had ever met Michael, knew him personally, or loved him deeply, you knew he had an extraordinary spirit.  His faith, humility, generosity, professionalism, and quick wit brought joy and encouragement. Whatever Michael pursued, he created lasting personal and professional friendships, graduating from North Davidson High School, Appalachian State University (BA – Healthcare Management), and later earning an MBA/MHA from Pfeiffer University.  Michael was Regional Vice President with MedQuest, the Board Chair of Calvary Day School, and an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.  He was a fan of anything App State and served on the Advisory Board of Beaver College of Health Sciences.  He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and drawing, but the joy of his life was his family.  Michael was a loving husband and father, dedicated son, compassionate brother and uncle, and an extraordinary friend.  He leaves behind a legacy, a precious family: his wife, Tiffany Livengood Reece of 26 years; sons, Garrett and Riley Reece and daughter, Caroline Reece.  He loved his extended family: his sister, Millie Ervin (Chuck); niece and nephew Hannah and Luke Lovic, and niece and nephew Leah and Bryce Ervin; his mother-in-law Sandy Livengood and sister-in-law, Angie Gibbons (Ted).  His Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Will Toburen and Rev. Randall Reece officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Day School or to Calvary Baptist Church, 134 S. Peace Haven Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
