Michael Petroccia

Mr. Michael John Petroccia, 34, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 surrounded by his family.  He was born on November 29, 1987 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to his parents, John and Mary Ann Petroccia.  Michael was an exceptional student at West Forsyth High School, where he graduated in 2006 and was named a student of the year.  He loved all things Anime and Dragon Ball Z, Nintendo, Sonic, and enjoyed collecting DVDs and action figures. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Pia Petroccia; maternal grandparents, George and Gertrude Hennessy and his cat, “Michael P.”  Surviving are his ever-devoted parents, John and Mary Ann Petroccia; beloved sister, Jacqueline Frederick (Brent); nephew, Theo “Ted” Frederick; aunts and uncles, Vincent and Elizabeth Petroccia and Michael and Kathleen Hennessy; several cousins; also surviving is his dearest friend, Teresa Hutchens and his exceptional nurse and friend, Beth Lemly.  A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 17, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. James Kang officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.  The family would like to thank Bayada Nursing for the many years of wonderful care given to Michael.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation or to the Ronald McDonald House.
