Michael “Iron Mike” Pelech

Michael ""Iron Mike"" Pelech, 82, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born in Butler, NJ, on November 21, 1930, to Michael Pelech and Anna Kostic Pelech, Mr. Pelech was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a mentor to many. An army veteran and 1959 graduate of Catawba College, he taught driver's ed at R.J. Reynolds and Paisley high schools, and was manager of R.J. Reynolds Auditorium. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty Jean Parks Pelech; brothers Joe, Charlie, Walt and Bobby; and sisters Mary and Ollie. He is survived and loved by his daughters Karen P. Giles (Alan) of Winston-Salem and Kim E. Pelech of Maryland, son Kevin M. Pelech of Wilmington, NC, and his adored and adoring granddaughter Kelly Giles.The family will receive friends Saturday, July 27, 2013, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
