Michael (Mick) Molson, of Cary, North Carolina, passed peacefully on August 25, 2013. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mick was born on August 28, 1948 to Michael and Evelyn Molson and grew up in Whiting, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Physics, became a teacher, and in 1971, enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was chosen to join the Air Force Security Service and was stationed at Orford Ness in Suffolk, England. There, he worked in cartography, communications, and the physics of long-range surveillance radars. In 1976, Mick married Catherine Hilton and together they raised their two children in Hammond, Indiana. He worked as an engineer and earned another degree at Purdue in computer programming. In 1988, he moved his family to North Carolina. For 15 years, he worked as a computer programmer at Northern Telecom. He retired early upon receiving a diagnosis of lymphoma. After successful treatment, he continued to enjoy traveling, photography, physics, long walks, and antiquing. He is survived by his son, Michael (Mickey); daughter-in law, Amber; daughter, Brooke; son-in-law, Jason; their son Artan; and his sisters Sandra and Bernadette. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30 at 1:00 pm, with a memorial service following at 2:00 pm, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home 6685 Shallowford Road Lewisville, NC 27023.
