Mr. Michael Dewitt Lindley, 63, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Arbor Acres. He was born in Chatham County on May 6, 1954 to the late Faye Simpson Lindley and Edd Troyal Lindley Sr. Mike was a loving husband and brother. He was also a great father, pop, friend, and plumber. Mike loved supporting his son-in-law and grandson in their racing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a sister, Gurtha Garner. He is survived by his wife, Diane Mabe Lindley; daughter, Lori Neal (Kevin); grandson, Riley Neal; sister, Edna Holland (Steve); three brothers: Edd Lindley Jr. (Brenda), David Lindley (Donna), and Danny Lindley (Kim); mother-in-law, Helen Scott; sisters-in-law, Brenda Nobles and Vickie Byrd (Mike); many nieces, nephews, and extended family; and special friends: Mick Doub, Martin Pace, Tom Westmoreland, and Chris Davis. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Steve Holland officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 4, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mineral Springs Fire Department, Holiday Drive, 1338 Old Hollow Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or to Bethany Baptist Church, Helping Hands Fund, 600 Old Hollow Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fred Reid and Mike's caregivers: Patrice, Stacey, Ali, and all the staff of Arbor Acres for the exceptional care given to Mike.
