Michael T. ""Pop"" Langford of Yadkinville, NC (formerly of Meadows of Dan, VA) has gone home to the Lord, to laugh, to love, to work and play. He has found that peace as he crossed over at the close of the day on February 17, 2017.
Don't grieve for him but lift your hearts and share with him. He is home with God and all his family and his longtime friends on the streets of gold in heaven.
Mike was born in 1940 in Thomasville, NC to the late Thomas W. and Louise Crouse Langford. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Langford Reece (Mark), his son Michael T. Langford, Jr. (Lori), and two brothers Edward Reid Langford and Charles David Langford. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Webb Langford. Mike enjoyed watching his wonderful grandchildren come of age: Erik Reid Hill (Amanda), Craig Michael Hill, Dustin Shoaf (Tracy), and Lindsey Taylor Langford. He was also blessed to have five great-grandchildren to add some excitement to his life: Laine, Jersey, Michael, Luca, and McKinley. Extended love came from nieces and nephews: Alison Wright (Sam), Amanda Langford, Kurt Langford, and Luke Langford.
Along with the many family gatherings, Mike also enjoyed fishing, hunting, trying to beat the computer on Solitaire, watching old Westerns and Clint Eastwood movies. He was an avid motorcyclist. He has covered the entire US either by two or three wheeled motorcycles or eighteen wheels long haul trucking. He never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly and was a friend to many people.
We will celebrate his life on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home located at 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston Salem.
