Mr. Michael Robert Decristofaro, 92, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his home. He was born March 13, 1918 in Union County, NJ, the son of the late, Joseph and Carrie Decristofaro. Mr. Decristofaro was retired from Union County Public School System in Scotch Plains, NJ and was a member of the CC's who help build Hungry Mother State Park in VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Nixon Decristofaro and a son, Thomas J. Nixon. Survivors include four children, Nita Keasler, Ralph Nixon, Jr. and wife, Rhonda, Jimmy Nixon and Billy W. Nixon all of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two nieces, Nancy Brechka and husband, Bill of Broken Arrow, OK and Carol Frisco and husband, Andy of Bridgewater, NJ. A memorial service will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. James Demby officiating.
