Michael Summers Culbertson

Mr. Michael Summers Culbertson, 63, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024.  He was born July 24, 1960, in Forsyth County to the late James Ewing and Patricia Martin Culbertson. Mr. Culbertson served in the U.S. Navy for six years, four of which were aboard the USS Nimitz.  He received the Navy Achievement Medal and was named Sailor of the Quarter while serving. He enjoyed kayaking, working with the Scout Troops 934 and 964, and visting his family's cottage on Lake Erie.  Most of all he loved his family and friends and was a devoted father and grandfather. Surviving is his son, Justin Michael Culbertson (Brooke); four grandchildren, Lovelyn, Elaina, Alexanne, and Leland; brother, Scott Culbertson (Deejie); two sisters, Leslie Leland and Lynn Culbertson; also surviving are four nephews, Chad Culbertson, Austin Culbertson, Blake Culbertson, and Austin Leland. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, 2:30 pm, at Unity Moravian Church with Rev. Scott Rainey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
