Michael Cruthers

Mr. Michael Stephen Cruthers, 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Michael was born in Princeton, West Virginia on December 28, 1956, the son of the late Cecil Franklin Cruthers and Maxine Harman Cruthers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two beloved cats, Reece and Chomper. He was owner/operator of Cruthers Siding and Windows until his retirement. Michael was an avid sports fan, especially his Carolina Tarheels, NASCAR fan and fisherman. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation about politics with anyone. Michael is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon Wyatt Cruthers; two children, Michael Shane Stoltz and Shana Bennett; four grandchildren, Conner Stoltz, Tyler Bennett, Shay Bennett and Raelyn Asbury; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly Bennett and Anthony Bennett. Michael is also survived by his two sisters, Carolyn Knoop (Doug) of Raleigh and Cathy Cruthers of Lewisville; two brothers, Kenneth Cruthers of Winston-Salem and Barry Cruthers (Sharon) of Virginia Beach, VA and one niece, Ashley Ennis (Jordan). Funeral services for Michael will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Private Graveside service will be conducted at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
