Michael Charles Creel

Mr. Michael Charles Creel, 67, of Woolwine, VA, passed away on April 21, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Michael was born in Stokes County, NC on September 3, 1949, to Charles Edward Creel and Betty Smith. He was a Boy Scout, loved being outdoors and fishing. Michael was very creative with his hands. He enjoyed making things out of leather and fine jewelry for other people. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father and his step-son, Steven R. Salsman. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Jaquelyn Smith; two grandchildren, Megan Smith and Cody Clark; two sisters, Ginger Bennett and Leeanne Lawrence; multiple nieces and nephews; his loving girlfriend of twenty-four years, Lynn Walker; one step-daughter, Jennifer Hill; two step-grandchildren, Brittany Lashmit and Michael Lashmit; and one step-great-grandchild, Braelynn Walker. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Rodney Hellard officiating the service. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
