Michael Joseph Brown

Mr. Michael Joseph Brown, 69, passed away Saturday 29 April 2017 at his residence. He was born April 27, 1948 in Columbia, SC, the son of Charles Deleon and Nellie Fillin Brown. He owned Atlantic Door Co. and had a work ethic that helped create a long list of loyal, repeat customers. He loved caring for and watching many of North Carolina's native birds, all of which he knew not only by sight, but also by their song. He had a compassionate nature for almost all of God's ""critters"" and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed the act of fishing almost as much as landing the ""big one"". He found peace by the water that soothed his soul. Mr. Brown lived life on his own terms, passing from this life to the next in much the same way. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Victor Brown. Survivors include his daughter, Amy Marie Schaefer her husband, MSGT Bradley Schaefer, USAF (ret.); their two children, Hannah Marie and Ens. Sarah Arden Schaefer, USN and a great-grand son Colin Michael Thomas; his son, Michael Eric Brown and his wife, Sarah and their daughter, Beatrix Brown; his five sisters, Teresa Hartman, Sharon Watson, Rosemary Hibbits, Charlene McClements and Jan Shouse; his four brothers, Brian, Matthew, James and William Brown. Services will be private. Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is serving the Brown Family.
