Michael Bottoms

The light of our life went out, only to be relit with God. Mr. Michael “Greg” Gregory Bottoms, 46, of Winston-Salem, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Greg was born in Orange County, NC, on March 31, 1974, to Michael Lou and Barbara Shelton Bottoms.

He was of the Christian faith. Greg enjoyed watching Nascar, especially his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Kyle Busch, and watching John Cena wrestle. He also enjoyed listening to rock-n-roll music and watching horror movies. Greg was the key to his family, changed peoples lives, and had a very humble, gracious, and loving spirit. He will be deeply missed.

Greg is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and uncle, Johnny Shelton. Surviving are his mother, Barbara Bruster and husband Joe; grandmother, Mae Hughes and husband JR Hughes of Rural Hall; favorite aunts and uncles; and also, the loving family of his caretaker, Dianne Hayes.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Tucker Cemetery in Seagrove, officiated by friends and relatives.
