Merrick Alexander Stone Guggeis

Merrick Alexander Stone Guggeis, 26, of Atlanta, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 7, 2022. He was born June 29, 1996, in Forsyth County to Michael and Shelly Guggeis. Merrick grew up in Clemmons, NC where he was a 2014 graduate of West Forsyth High School. He furthered his education at Western Carolina University, graduating with honors in 2018. Merrick was currently pursuing his passion as a construction project manager, working for Whiting-Turner in Atlanta, GA. He was very outgoing and adventurous. In his spare time he enjoyed four-wheeling, spending his days at the lake and going on hikes with his best friend/dog Toby. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Joan Guggeis and a cousin, Glenn Fitz. Surviving are his parents; his sister, Bailie Guggeis; grandparents, Claude and Ruth Ann Peters; uncles and aunts, Gary Peters (Lisa), Greg Peters (Shelley), Christina Lavell (John), George Guggeis (Kristen), and David Guggeis; and cousins, Amberlie, Emily, Victoria, Patrick, Catherine, Jake, Katy, Drew, David and Ben. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
