KING Mrs. Melvina Groce Brantley, 88, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at Village Care of King. She was born in Yadkin County on December 6, 1921 to the late Dewey C. Groce and Lillian Macemore Groce. Mrs. Brantley was a member of Mizpah Moravian Church and had retired from Hanes Hosiery with 43 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clovis Edward Brantley. Mrs. Brantley is survived by her son, Dewey Brantley and wife Pat of King and a brother, J.D. Groce and wife Hazel of Yadkinville. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem with Rev. Beechard Moorefield officiating. There will be no public visitation. The family asks that memorials be made to the donor's church of choice.
