Melvin Willard Martin

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Melvin Willard Martin, 78, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Melvin was born in Forsyth County on September 5, 1935 to the late David and Laura Martin.

He was a member of Kernersville Friends Meeting Church for 60 years where he proudly served as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and member of the Maintenance Committee.

Surviving are his wife of 59 ½ years, Peggy J. Martin, of the home; his children, Connie (Jules) Kä§rner, Tanya (Danny) Lewis, Lisa (Bobby) Holloway and Jeff (Amy) Martin; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister, Annie Robbins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Jerry Gibbons officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held on Tuesday at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
