Melvin Davis

Mr. Melvin Eugene Davis, 78, went home to be with the lord on Sunday, September 27, 2020. Melvin was born November 29, 1941 in Forsyth County to the late Harvey Garfield Davis and Mary Hege Davis. He was a skilled photographer who enjoyed spending time with his family and had a love for NASCAR racing. In addition to his parents Melvin was preceded in death by his sister, Carnell Sloan. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley Haneline Davis; a daughter, Carmen Robertson; and a granddaughter, Sydney Robertson. A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday September 30, 2020 at Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Jon White and Rev. Bill Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Freedom Baptist Church general fund, 1000 Rural Hall-Germanton Rd, Rural Hall, NC 27045. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the loving care and support given by the employees  of the cardiac intensive care unit at Forsyth Medical Center who took care of Melvin in his final days.
