Melrose Gray Larimore Smith

WALKERTOWN - Mrs. Melrose Gray Larimore Smith, 83, died Monday, October 22, 2012 at her home. Melrose was born on June 10, 1929 to the late Paul Thomas Larrimore, Sr. and Ida Cline Larrimore. She was a librarian at Wake Forest University, retiring after 25 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church Kernersville. In addition to her parents, Melrose was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Larimore, Doris Brown and Frances Mitchell; one brother, Paul Larrimore, Jr. and one daughter, Sandra Ellis. Surviving are her sister, Faye Woods (Roland) of Kernersville; a brother, Lloyd Laramore of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Brent and Jonathan Ellis; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 26, 2012, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Stephen Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
