Melissa Jarvis

Melissa Craighead Jarvis was born in Christiansburg, VA on December 3, 1966. Melissa was a dedicated Registered Nurse on 2nd GI at Novant Forsyth Hospital. Melissa was a lover of life and a compassionate soul who never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. Melissa married Michael Shane Jarvis on June 21, 2003, at Mt. Pleasant Church in Tanglewood. She was mother to two fur babies, Tensil and Jasmin. Melissa loved being a nurse and mentor to others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Preston Craighead, as well as her siblings, Bill, Libby and Edith Craighead. Surviving is her husband, Michael S. Jarvis and her nieces; Tammy, Dawn, Becky and Amber.

Melissa served in the United States Army, both active duty and reserves.  While serving, Melissa earned the Army Achievement Medal, Sharpshooter Badge w/m16, and Expert Badge/Hand Grenade Bar.  Melissa served at various installations, most notably the Pentagon and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
