Melissa Ann Reynolds Burton, 43, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory. She was born May 15, 1965 in Forsyth County to Howard and JoAnn Smith Reynolds. Mrs. Burton was a member of Brookstown United Methodist Church. She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved Alan Kulwicki. She also loved to go to Bowman Gray Stadium. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading and loved her animals. She was preceded in death by two grandmothers; two grandfathers; and several aunts and uncles. Surviving is her loving husband of 18 years, Donald Wayne Burton of the home; one son, David Alan Burton of the home; her parents; and one brother, Lee Reynolds of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24 at Brookstown United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chip Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice in Hickory.
