Mrs. Melba Craddock Hartgrove Richardson, 63, of Winston-Salem died Monday, January 12, 2009 at her home. She was born May 25, 1945 in Stokes County, the daughter of the late Sanford Lee and Ruby Atkins Craddock. Mrs. Richardson was a member of Fraternity Church of the Brethren and a graduate of King High School. She retired from Western Electric following 22 years of service. She was a Dolly Parton collector and fan for over 40 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Craddock Reed. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Steve D. Richardson of the home; one daughter, Kim L. H. Parsons and husband, John of Winston-Salem; one son, Anthony ""Tony"" Dale Hartgrove and partner, Peter C. Mitchell of Winston-Salem; one grandchild, Christopher John Parsons of Virginia Beach, VA; two honorary grandchildren, Dalton and Peyton King of Clairfield, TN and one brother, Leon Craddock of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Bobby Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
