Mcdonald "Smokey" Everidge

Mr. McDonald “Smokey” Ferguson Everidge, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born June 9, 1937 in Yadkin County to Clifford McNeer Everidge and Margaret Ferguson Everidge. Mr. Everidge graduated from Jonesville High School and was a veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. He retired from Piedmont Airlines and was part of the Fire and Rescue Crash Crew. He was a former member of the Jonesville and Rural Hall Fire Departments. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Ann Banner. Surviving are his wife, Shelvia Myers Everidge; one daughter, Kymberly Everidge Martin (Donnie); sister, Carolyn E. Tilley (Barry); three stepchildren, Carolyn Joyce, Bobby Neal and Sherrie Russell; one granddaughter, Meredyth Nunn Waller (Dan); two great grandsons, Declan Waller and Boedy Waller; four step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund.
