Mrs. Maxine Hill Snyder, 86, passed away peacefully due to losing the battle with her kidney and heart disease on Thursday, September 15, 2022 surrounded by her family.  She had recently moved from her home in Clemmons to live with her daughter Tammy in Wilmington.  She was born in Surry County on August 14, 1936 to the late Joe and Ida Booth Hill of Pilot Mountain who passed away in the late 1970’s.  Mrs. Snyder believed in hard work.  She enjoyed mowing and working in her yard.  Preceding her in death was her first husband, Jimmie Sheets who is the father of her daughters; second husband, Luther Snyder, and a third husband, Burch Woosley who was the love of her life. Also preceding her in death were six brothers and sisters.  Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Sheets Marshall (Dale) of Wilmington and Yana Sheets Matherly (Gary) of Pfafftown; four grandchildren Elizabeth Hanson (Tim) of Wilmington, Laura Smith (Rick) of Surf City, Jordan Marshall (Jennifer) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Cory Matherly (Karlee) of Winston-Salem.  She had nine great grandchildren, Hadleigh and Harper Hanson; Logan, Weston, and Charlotte Smith; and William, Bradley, Lily, and Michelle Marshall and a great granddaughter due in November Kolbi Matherly.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 1082 Community Road, Lexington, NC with Rev. John Hackworth officiating.  The family would like to thank Hospice of Wilmington, especially Adam, for all the care and support given to Mrs. Snyder.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401-7335.
