Mrs. Maxine ""Bane"" Holcomb Morrison, 77, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Morrison was born in Forsyth County to Forest Lee and Gustie Stewart Holcomb on July 14, 1934. She was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday school class for disabled children. Mrs. Morrison retired from Banes Hair Design, which she owned and operated and also worked as a hairdresser for the Oaks at Forsyth. She loved to cook, spend time with her family and friends and attend social gatherings. Mrs. Morrison was an avid sports fan, watching NASCAR, baseball, and football. She loved her time volunteering for Hospice as their hair stylist and was a Goodson award winner for her many years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Morrison is survived by a daughter, Lynne Dillard and husband Larry of Statesville; a grandson, Richard Dillard and wife Amanda; two great grandchildren Nathan and Colton; two sisters, Mary Sealey of King and Donna Carpenter and husband Albert of Georgia; a brother, Stewart Holcomb and wife Brenda of Lexington; and a very devoted, loving friend and companion, Jean Jarvis of the home. A funeral service will be conducted 7:00 pm Tuesday at Wait Chapel with the Rev. Susan Parker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wait Chapel. A committal service will be held 11:00am Wednesday at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville. The family would like thank all of Mrs. Morrison's caregivers, Bane was especially fond of Yvonne Boston, who was a devoted nurse.
