Maxine Martin Conrad

Mrs. Maxine Martin Conrad 92 of Clemmons passed away peacefully Saturday September 5, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Conrad was born March 17, 1923 in Athens, West Virginia to Luther and Ethel McClaugherty Martin. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Conrad Shoaf, one son John J. Conrad III, eight sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years John J. Conrad of Clemmons, one granddaughter Vandee Gilbert of Pfafftown, one grandson John Shoaf Jr. and wife Michelle of Lewisville, one great grandson Adam Shoaf of Lewisville. She was a dedicated member of Robin Hood Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Conrad brought joy and laughter to the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew her as she joins her Father in Heaven. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 pm September 8, 2015 at Robinhood Road Baptist Church with Rev. John Hackworth officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations may be made to the National Down Syndrome Society at ndss.org.
