Maxine Bailey

Mrs. Maxine Phelps Bailey, 90, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at her residence.  She was born October 3, 1929 in Davie County, the daughter of Willie and Addie Beauchamp Phelps.  A member of Mocks United Methodist Church; she was a graduate of Shady Grove High School.  She retired from AT&T and enjoyed crafts, gardening and was a multi-talented person.  She was quiet and had many friends who will miss her.  She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and a brother.  Survivors include her husband, Bobby Bailey; two daughters, Sue Johnson (Henry) and Jan Bailey both of Advance; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister Susie Anderson of Clemmons.  A private graveside service will be held.  Memorials may be made to Mocks United Methodist Church, 1163 Beauchamp Rd., Advance, NC 27006.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
