Max Henry Rice

Max Henry Rice, a loving husband, father and Pawpaw, 79, passed away October 3, 2008 at his home. He was born April 8, 1929 in Guilford County to the late Albert Ross and Treva Long Rice. Max was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Colfax Ward and retired from RJR Tobacco Company. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Rice Cecil and husband, Dale of Walnut Cove, Pamela Rice Forehand and fianc郩, Michael Wiles, of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Ruth Mears and husband Charles, of Colfax, Patty Idol and husband, Richard, of Kernersville; a brother, W.A. Rice and wife, Norris, of Colfax; three grandchildren, Samantha and Austin Cecil, Frankie Forehand, III; one great grandson, Frankie Forehand, IV. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wilma Joyce Rice, two brothers, Roland and Larry Joe, and a sister Laura Rice Sapp. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Colfax Ward. Bishop Larry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville.
