Mrs. Maude Anna Butner Vanhoy, 91, of Clemmons passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Clemmons Village Assisted Living. She was born in Forsyth County on January 13, 1920 to Eugene A. and Nannie Ashburn Butner. Mrs. Vanhoy was a member of Ardmore United Methodist Church. She graduated from Reynolds High School and later married the love of her life Raymond Lee Vanhoy, who later became Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force. After retiring, Mrs. Vanhoy and her husband owned and operated Raycliff's Hallmark Centers in Winston-Salem. After selling the Hallmark store she spent her time enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Vanhoy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, Tim Vanhoy and wife Kathy of King, and Randy Vanhoy of Mocksville; two daughters, Judy Weyer and Mary L. Vanhoy, both of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, January 2, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ardmore United Methodist Church, 630 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or Goodwill Industries, 2760 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
