Maude Hayes Lunsford

King, NC: Lunsford: Mrs. Maude Hayes Lunsford, 85, of King, NC passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Lunsford was born June 30, 1024 in Surry County to the late, Jesse William and Zetter Venable Hayes. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Mrs. Lunsford loved Gospel Music, working in her flower garden and worked in the Hanes Cotton Mill. She was a homemaker and was married for 45 & ½ years to Roy Edgar Lunsford, who preceded her in death in 2000. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lunsford was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Surviving to cherish her memory are, four daughters; Audrey Whisenhunt and husband, Ricky of Winston-Salem, Susan Mitchell and husband, Ronald of King, Patricia Thomas and husband, John of Pinnacle, Janice Blanton of Lexington, NC., 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Pastor Robert Sizemore. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for all the care and support they gave to mom and our family.
