Maude Green

WINSTON SALEM - Maude "Memaw" Evelyn Brackett Green, 83, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Maude was born on September 15, 1934 in Roane County, TN to Frank Eugene and Dorothy Ward Brackett. She was very strong in her faith and was a member of Deep River Church of Christ in High Point. Maude was a loving and caring lady who loved her family and church. Her favorite things to do were shopping and spending time with family. Maude made it well known and was very clear of where she would spend eternity. Upon growing ill, Maude expressed her wishes to go home to be with those who've gone before. She would ask us not to grieve for her, but to rejoice in waiting for a reunion.
In addition to her parents, Maude was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, J.C. Green; a son, Danny Ray Green; a daughter, Debra Marie Honaker; a grandson, Jacob Richard Honaker; eight siblings, Gene Brackett, Lennis Sams, Mary Brackett, Calvin Brackett, Margaret Ann Wallace, John Brackett, Jim Brackett, and Mable Smith.
Surviving are her grandson, Chad Honaker (Amber); her niece, Lori Wilson (Troy); great nephews, Tyler, Chase and Christian; a sister, Naomi Klipa (Don), and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastors John Foster and David Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, at the funeral home.
