Maude McDade Atchley

Mrs. Maude McDade Atchley, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Brian Center in Lexington. She was born October 14, 1919 in Rutherford County to Madison Lynch and Eunice Holland McDade. Mrs. Atchley was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 47 years. She loved to work in her flower garden and enjoyed making everyone laugh. She loved being a homemaker and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and three brothers. Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Joseph ""Ray"" Atchley; three sons, Bill Bridges and wife Faith of Spencer, Bobby Hill and wife Dot of Spindale, and Howard Hill and wife Mary of Forest City; two grandchildren, Gene Bridges of Winston-Salem and Debbie Wilkerson of Greensboro; and two great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Brian King officiating.
