Matthew "Matt" Gee

Matthew "Matt" Gee, age 56, passed away on Friday, December 27th, 2024. He was a loving husband, proud father, son and friend to many. Originally from Syracuse NY, Matt and family moved to Colfax, NC in 2007. He loved NC because the sun shines almost every day!

Matt worked for Schott North America for over 25 years. He started out in Engineering and ended his career as a Sales Manager. Matt had the biggest smile and loved life. He enjoyed puttering around the yard, doing home improvement projects and sitting out back playing ball with his Lab Maggie. The last few years of his life was devoted to beekeeping with his wife. He loved everything about it, managing the bees, reading about them and making (and eating) as much honey as humanly possible. 

Matt is survived by his beloved wife, Beth; and two sons, Jerrad and Josh. He was so proud of his boys and cherished his time with them. He is also survived by his mother and father, Donna and Tom Gee of Enterprise, AL; his sister, Courtney Westrick (Chuck) of Enterprise, AL; his mother and father-in-law, James and Donna Carmichael of Colfax; brothers-in-law, James Carmichael (Maureen) of GA and Jeff Carmichael (Shelley) of NY; nieces, Shelby, Cara, and Anna; and nephews, Colby, Zack, Noah, Jonah, Caleb and Jeffrey. 

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Andy Cook officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
