On October 30, 2009 at 5:25 AM, God sent his angels to bring Matthew Adolphus Marable home. Mr. Marable was born February 23, 1921 inWoodville, Florida, a son of the late Matthew A. Marable, Sr., and the late Cornelia Balentine Marable. Mr. Marable was a retired truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight. He loved to fish, be outdoors and most of all, work in his garden. He was a great husband, daddy, pap-paw and was always ready to tell a good joke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Jamie Evans-Jones, and a sister, Annie Lou Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen Vaughn Marable, children, Matthew Marable and wife Joann, Sandra Duke and fiance Burl, Diane Hicks-Hunter and husband Rick, Jack Marable and wife Robin, David Marable and partner Dewey, and Angela Huffman and husband William, sisters, Cornelia Boatwright, Sara Baker, and Geraldine Gamble, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Joe Reece officiating Entombment will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Marable family or the National Kidney Foundation. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of IMU2 and the Internal Physicians of Forsyth Hospital for providing such wonderful care.
